Vicki began her theatre career in the North East, where she is from, working in local theatres and Arts Centres and forming a street theatre company ‘That’s the way to do it’, that performed at local festivals as a human Punch and Judy show.
While training at Darlington College of Technology and Cumbria Institute of the Arts in Carlisle (Now Cumbria University), where she gained a 2.1 in Performing Arts, she performed in a number of shows from the musicals Cabaret and Hair to self devised shows which is where her heart lies.
Following her degree, she was offered an apprenticeship with Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, working in their Community and Outreach team, where she worked running a Youth Theatre for over 200 young people. During her time at TBTL, she also performed in a Christmas show, The Snowmakers Grin, where she played the character Mrs McGinty.
Vicki has worked on community projects around North and West Cumbria, both while employed at Theatre by the Lake and Prism Arts, but also on a Freelance basis. Vicki’s favourite project was Whirlpool, a new writing piece, performed by young people in the pool at Keswick Leisure Centre.
Vicki has much experience in theatre both in performance and directing, preferring comedic character performance, mask and street theatre.
