Chloe Maitland is a visual artist based in Cumbria, England. Drawing is her thing, be that with pencils, pens, paint or pastels. The possibilities are endless. Her practice is always developing, sometimes taking on more sculptural forms. Recently Chloe has learnt to sew on a machine and has made myself a pair of trousers! She finds it a very personal experience that grows through every project she is involved in.
Chloe graduated with a Fine Art degree in 2018 as well as a Diploma in Social Enterprise Leadership in 2022. She won the Artist in Residency award on completion of her Fine Art degree which provided her with an extra year of studio space at university.
Chloe’s involvement in art comes from a desire to connect with others in a positive and beneficial way. She believes art is a powerful communication tool for forging alliances and transforming view-points. In the fast paced world we live in today, art making offers us space to slow down, come back to ourselves and be present with each other.
